Amy L. Miller is Of Counsel and is the head of the family law practice with the law firm of Singleton LLC. Amy has had a long career focusing exclusively on family and divorce law including issues related to pre- and post-divorce matters, custody, alimony, child support, equitable distribution of assets and debt, domestic violence, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements and family law appellate matters. She is an experienced litigator as well as mediator.
Amy was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 2006, to the New York Bar in 2007 and to the New Jersey State Federal Bar in 2006. She attended the University of Maryland and received a B.A. degree and a B.S. degree in 2002. She also attended St. John’s University School of Law and received her J.D. in 2006.
Amy has been very active in the County and State bar associations throughout her career, she volunteers her time to several groups and has published several articles in various legal publications. Specifically, Amy is a past Chair of the District X Fee Arbitration Committee, she volunteers as a Family Law Early Settlement Panelist in Morris and Sussex counties, and is also a volunteer attorney with Jersey Battered Women’s Services. Amy recently completed two terms as Trustee on the Executive Board of the Morris County Bar Association. Amy is on the Family Law Executive Committee of the Family Law Section within the New Jersey State Bar Association. She is an Associate Editor on the New Jersey Family Lawyer publication and previously served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Young Lawyers Division’s Dictum publication. Amy has published several articles in these publications. Amy has presented Continuing Legal Education seminars to the Family Law Section of the State Bar and to the Morris County Bar Association. This has included presenting at the Hot Tips seminar for several years, and also presenting at the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Annual Meeting & Convention in Atlantic City. As a young lawyer, Amy was a Co-Chair of the Young Lawyers Subcommittee of the Family Law Section, and she has held many roles on the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
When representing parties in a divorce or other family law matter, Amy takes a settlement-oriented approach and works to assist her clients in reaching an amicable resolution where possible. In matters that require litigation, Amy zealously advocates for her parties’ position in the courtroom.
Amy has enjoyed expanding her practice to act as a mediator for parties facing divorce, post-divorce and other family law issues. Throughout her career, Amy has received recognition both as a young lawyer and now as a more seasoned attorney. Amy was named a “Rising Star” by New Jersey Super Lawyers in several years, and was recently named a “Super Lawyer.” As a young lawyer, Amy was a prior recipient of the Young Lawyers Division’s “Service to the Bar” award. In 2019, 2020 and 2021, Amy was selected as one of the Best Lawyers for Families through New Jersey Family.
